Decent Home Standard comes to Decima Street TRA residents.
In 2000 the government made a commitment to bring the fabric of all
public sector homes up to a minimum standard by December
2010.Residents of Meakin Estate, Elim Estate and Decima Street would
be benefitting from the heating and kitchen renewal scheme which
JMB
Leathermarket has now been granted funds to carry out.
What
can you expect?
The contractor to the scheme –
Lakehouse Contracts Ltd will survey
your home to find out exactly what improvements need to be made. A
home may need a new bathroom or kitchen or the electrical wiring may
be insufficient and need replacing. Some houses will need greater
improvements than others to ensure they meet the standard.
According to JMB, a public meeting will hold on Monday 23rd February
2009 at Decima Street TRA hall starting from 6.30pm to explain the
extent of the works, the programme, site set-up and kitchen choices.
The scheme however does not involve recently refurbished properties
or leaseholders.
What you need to do
As residents, you are invited to attend the Monday 23rd
February 2009 public meeting, but if you are unable to do so, please
call Alan Gawler on 0207 525 1606 on any queries you may have on the
scheme.
